The purpose of Friends of the Library groups is:

  • to focus public attention on the library;
  • to stimulate the use of the library's resources and services;
  • to receive and encourage gifts, endowment, and bequests to the library;
  • to support and cooperate with the library in developing library services and facilities for the community;
  • and to support the freedom to read as expressed in the American Library Association Bill of Rights.


Friends of the Library Arnold Branch

Meeting Date: 4th Wednesday of every month at 10:00 a.m. in the Arnold Jaycees Community Room at the Arnold Branch, 1701 Missouri State Rd.

Membership Dues:

  • Individual $5.00/year
  • Family $10.00/year
  • Organization $25.00/year
  • Contributing $50.00/year
  • Life $100.00

 

Fund Raising Activities:

  • Annual Antique Appraisal, Annual Spring Book Sale, and on going sales of book bags and used books

Upcoming Events:

  • 2012 Friends Annual Book Sale: April 12 from 4 to 8 pm ($5 Admission); April 13 from 10 - 5 pm (Free Admission); April 14 from 10 - 3 pm (Free Admission).  
  • 2012 Antique Appraisal: Saturday, September 22 from 11 - 3 pm.

Friends of the Library Northwest Branch

Friends of the LibraryMeeting Date: Second Friday of every month at 10:00 a.m.

Membership Dues:

  • Individual $5.00/year
  • Family $7.50/year
  • Organization $50.00/year
  • Contributing $100.00/year
  • Life $500.00
  • Student $2.00

Annual membership is renewable in May each year.

Membership Application

Fund Raising Activities: Manage a book shop within the Library; annual quilt raffle; sale of book bags, G.E.D books, and local interest books.

Library Support: Purchase of prizes and gifts for children's summer and adult reading programs; purchase of materials for the genealogy/local history section; payment of presenter fees for programs; and sponsoring of adult programs such as author signings and humanities programs.

Friends of the Library Windsor Branch

Meeting Date: Fourth Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m.

Membership Dues:

  • Student/Senior $2.00/year
  • Individual $5.00/year
  • Family $10.00/year
  • Organization $25.00/year
  • Contributing $50.00/year
  • Life $100.00

Membership Application

Fund Raising Activities: Perpetual book sale; sale of book bags, flash drives and test preparation books;  and photos of children with Santa at Christmas and the Easter Bunny.

Library Support: Purchase of prizes and gifts for children's and summer reading programs, purchase of materials for other children's programs, payment of presenter fees for programs, and sponsoring of adult programs - author signings, humanities programs, and musical performances.

You can help support the library programs that are not funded through tax revenues, such as children's and adult crafts and the summer reading programs, by contributing to the Friends of the Library. Your donation is tax deductible. Please stop by the library or mail your check to:
